Super Nupe Box Art

The Super Nupe box art has been finalized and has gone to press! This whole project has been fun for me because I get to tap into many of the things that I enjoy doing. I’ve been able to create and draw characters, design and paint 3D protypes, create marketing videos, tell stories via the blog and design the package.

When designing the box for Super Nupe my goal was to try to get you to keep it. I wanted to make it nice enough that brothers would not want to simply take the figure out and throw the box away.

First, I had to determine the overall look and feel. I decided to go with a comic book art style for the front that highlighted the iconic Diamond K on his chest. The sides feature the fraternity’s greek letters with their trim embossed out of a red texture. The back bears the Fraternity’s coat-of-arms and an actual photo of Super Nupe.

For me the packaging for items like this is a major part of the experience, especially when opening for the first time. I hope it’s the same for you! Check out the video to get ready!
