The Evolution of Super Nupe – Part 2
Share
If I had to describe myself in a few words I would say “Child of God, Husband, Father, Musician, Artist, Encourager, Nupe.” There are others but you get the picture. With these words come many different interests. My interests that naturally flow into Super Nupe are drawing comic books, building/painting models and my beloved fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi.
In the spring of 2020, I decided to take on a personal project for my own edification that combined the interests that I mentioned previously. While working on this project, which was the creation of two 12-inch action figures representing a pledge and a probate from my era on the yard, I shared some pics with my chapter brother and now partner in Lore, Kevin Hood. He was just as excited as me which reminded me how much he, I, and other Nupes loved our organization and the items that represent it.
Upon completion, in August of 2020, I posted photos to social media and the positive response was overwhelming… not just from the Nupes but from members of at least four other black greek orgs. This response is what prompted Kevin and I to join forces with the goal of bringing something like this to the market for everyone to enjoy. It was out of this experience that Lore was born.
